Anzac Cookies (TWO DOZEN). The story behind these cookies is one that has been associated with war efforts during World War 1. The acronym is Australia and New Zealand Army Corp. It is my understanding they were part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary formed in Egypt in 1915, they were involved in battle in Gallipoli. It is said these cookies were made and sent to the troops while another story is they were baked and sold to raise money for the troops. I remember both versions of the story growing up.

The cookies are not overly sweet, they do have a crunch during the drier months and softer in the humid months - always a great dunker. The combination of the ingredients makes them different from other oat cookies. The golden syrup gives the cookies the flavor that is not common here in the US. My fellow Australian and New Zealanders will take the last cookie on the plate.

Cookies are made to order using fresh quality ingredients, there will be some variation in size as the cookies are hand scooped. I always strive for consistency in shape, size and color. Some variation may occur because different brands of golden syrup vary in color.

Your cookies are made to order. For each dozen ordered, you will receive 2 packages (6 cookies in each) in FDA approved cellophane bags, tied with a twisty tie, a purple curling ribbon and a green tag. Your packages of cookies will be carefully packaged into a white bakery box.

Your cookies will be baked and shipped Monday - Wednesday to ensure you receive the freshest cookie possible using priority shipping 2-3 day delivery. I do not ship on public holidays.

If you live locally and can pick up your cookies please convo me first so I can issue you a free shipping coupon.
